Interpol roped in to find alleged fraudster from George

Garden Route police are still searching for a businesswoman from Pacaltsdorp who was reported missing by her husband in January.

Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie says an arrest warrant has since been issued for the 63-year-old Benit Joy Brink-Lawrence, known as Bonny.

He says she is facing at least six fraud charges and the investigation is now at a sensitive stage.

Pojie says the local police are working with Interpol to trace the suspect.

'Bonny' was last seen on the 15th of January when she boarded a Bolt to take her to a medical facility in George.

The driver dropped her off in a parking area near York Street and she never returned home.

Fraud charges have been laid against her in George, as well as in Gauteng and Cape Town.

According to the complainants, they invested money through Lawrence’s company, BBL Global Corporation.

All the money was supposed to be invested offshore.

Once arrested all the cases will be centralised to George.
