The Hawks in the Eastern Cape are appealing to the public for help in tracing a 52-year-old woman who failed to appear in court where she is charged with fraud and tax evasion.
Spokesperson, Warrant-Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana, said 52-year-old Neliswa Nofilitha, was arrested for the alleged offences committed between 2014 and 2015 in East London.
He said it is alleged that she had unlawfully made a false declaration to the SA Revenue Service which was prejudiced in the amount of R633 000.
Mhlakuvana said Nofilitha was arrested in March last year and appeared in court where she was released on bail.
However, he said she failed to appear in court on the next date on 23 October 2023, and her bail was revoked, and a warrant for her arrest issued.
