The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have confirmed the abduction of a Chinese national from a business in Gqeberha.
Spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela said the 40-year-old woman was taken from Broadway Supermarket in Koyana Street on Sunday.
The complainant in the matter is the woman’s husband.
Mgolodela said he, and several employees, had been helping customers when two men struck at around 14.30 pm.
She said the VW Polo used as a getaway car was found abandoned on Klaas Street, and the woman is still missing.
No further details were immediately available.
The latest abduction comes after Gqeberha bio kineticist was released unharmed on Friday, the same day that young businessman, Hilton Wicks of Nqanqarhu (formerly Maclear), was also abducted.
The Hawks confirmed that he was dropped off safely at Kei Bridge in the early hours of Monday morning.
