Police in Gqeberha are responding to a shooting incident that took place along Kragga Kamma Road in front of the Sunridge Village Shopping Centre on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, three suspects were busy breaking in at a cellular shop in the Centre when a panic alarm was activated.
It is further alleged that when a security company responded to the scene, two of the suspects jumped into the officer's response vehicle.
The man fired shots and one suspect managed to flee on foot.
