Three men who pretended to be customers robbed a cell phone shop in a Shopping Centre in Gqeberha on Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said the men entered the store in Walmer at around 10 am while the staff member was busy with two customers.
She said after waiting a while, one of the men drew a firearm and ordered the complainant, the two customers as well as a security officer, to the back of the store where they were locked inside a store room.
Janse Van Rensburg said the suspects took an undisclosed number of cell phones before fleeing on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
“Walmer Detectives are investigating a case of business robbery.”
