Police in Gqeberha are searching for 15 suspects who broke into an ATM at a business in Kwazakhele on Monday night.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said the drama unfolded at about 21:20 when the complainant and a colleague were confronted by two suspects after the business had closed.
She said the men took money from the cash register and the complainants cell phone.
“The suspects continued to the shop area, where there were approximately 15 more suspects with firearms.
“The suspects opened the ATM and took the cash boxes inside and left the business on foot,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
They also took cell phones and alcohol from the shop.
“A case of business robbery was opened, and the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
