Today marks day five of a massive rescue operation at the construction site in George, where a five-storey apartment building collapsed on Monday.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday morning, rescue workers managed to retrieve the body of yet another person from underneath the rubble.
Algoa FM news was present on the scene when a rescue worker confirmed that another body was found.
The official death toll, according to the municipality, is 13 people.
Rescue workers have been working non-stop for over 100 hours since Monday.
They have now switched to heavy-duty demolition equipment.
During a media briefing on Friday, the Western Cape Government confirmed that their efforts were still focused on rescuing as many people as possible.
Family members have, however, said that their hope of their relatives being found alive was fading.
