FlySafair will temporarily suspend flights between Cape Town and George from the 23rd of August until the 10th of December.
FlySafair CEO, Elmar Conradie says they aim to avoid cancelling scheduled flights at all costs, but the airline will however need to suspend some flights between the two cities.
Conradie said affected customers would be refunded.
The airline's Vice President of sales and distribution, Kirby Gorden says its impossible to keep fares low by flying half empty planes during low demand periods.
He says to counter this, they decided to implement a flexi schedule strategy, where they will limit flights during low demand periods, but increase the frequency during high demand periods.
