Employees from Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's Electricity and Energy Directorate are still striking illegally over allowance issues.
Metro spokesperson, Mthubanzi Mniki, says the strike has placed considerable strain on services and has caused delays in attending to electricity related problems within the metro.
He says the Portfolio Chairperson of Infrastructure and Engineering, Councillor Andile Mfunda, met with striking workers yesterday in a bid to find common ground.
Mniki says the strike does effect load shedding and that it may not always run according to the schedule
He says the situation will remain unchanged until a resolution is found.
AlgoaFM News has learnt that some residents have been without power since Saturday and that power faults are also not being attended to.
