A 78 year-old Port Elizabeth woman has died in a robbery at her home in Lytham Street, Kabega Park.
Speaking from the scene on Thursday afternoon, Captain Johan Rheeder told AlgoaFM news police suspect that she was suffocated but that a post mortem would determine the exact cause of death.
The woman, who may not be named yet, bore no physical injuries.
Rheeder says three armed men broke into the house earlier in the day and tied up the 37-year old domestic worker with cable ties.
They then ransacked the home and fled with an entire safe as well as a laptop computer.
There have been no arrests.
