East London police are investigating a case of murder and one of attempted murder after two men were attacked in the CBD.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Hazel Mqala, says the body of one man was found in Caxton Street on Wednesday morning.
She said the man had a head injury and his body was covered with a blanket.
Mqala says a second man, who was found in an adjacent street, had been stabbed in the head but survived.
She says police found stones next to him.
He has been admitted to hospital.
No arrests have been made.
It is believed that the men may have been homeless and living on the street.
