EC SAPS seek help in identifying three bodies

Police in Kariega are appealing to the community for assistance in tracing the family of three men whose bodies were found in unrelated incidents in July.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said in the one case the skeletal remains believed to be that of a male were found were found on Sunday, 9 July in the bush near Rooihoogte.

“He was dressed in a Redbat jacket, faded jeans, brown slip-on shoes, and a black and grey waist belt was found with the remains. 

She said two days later, the body of a male, believed to be between 60 and 70, was found in the bush close to the Uitenhage airfield. 

“The deceased was dressed in a black jersey, brown T-shirt, and blue pants. The deceased had no visible signs of injuries,” Janse Van Rensburg said.

She said on Saturday 19 July, the body of a male believed to be in his fifties was found next to Willow Dam in Uitenhage.

The deceased was dressed in blue pants, a grey-blue shirt, a black and red jacket, and black boots and also had no signs of injuries.

Janse Van Rensburg said inquest dockets were opened in the three cases and police were appealing to anyone who could assist in tracing the relatives of the three deceased to contact D/WO Deon Roos at SAPS Uitenhage on 079 896 8148.
