EC man killed by lightning

A young Eastern Cape man has been killed by lightning while returning from a soccer match in the Willowvale area.

Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, the 23-year-old man was walking in front of a group of other people when he was hit by a bolt of lightning.

The incident happened at Matolweni Location at Nqadu Village in Willowvale.

Manatha says the man's name will be released once all his relatives have been informed of the tragedy.

An inquest docket has been opened.
