Eastern Cape farmer being held on rape charge

A 40-year-old Eastern Cape farmer is expected to apply for bail tomorrow after being arrested for the alleged rape of his seven-year-old daughter.

Provincial police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, says the man appeared in court in Graaff Reinet on Monday on charges of rape.

He says the farmer was remanded in custody until his bail hearing.

Nkohli says he was arrested and charged for allegedly raping his daughter on several occassions.

He told AlgoaFM News he had also been made aware of another pending case out of Outdtshoorn against the same farmer.
