A man has been burnt to death by a mob for allegedly setting fire to a shack in Wells Estate, Port Elizabeth, in which 7 members of one family were killed earlier this month.
According to the Police, Swartkops SAPS were patrolling the area when they overheard community members talking about the incident which happened around 6 o'clock on Sunday evening.
A Saps helicopter, K9 unit and Rescue Unit instituted a search for the body and together with the community, found the deceased on Sunday night.
Warrrant Officer Dumile Gwavu says a postmortem will be conducted to establish the identity of the deceased.
A murder docket has been opened.
The mob justice attack has been condemned by the Police Service in the Eastern Cape.
