The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says a water disruption in the Colchester area is due to a burst pipe that supplies the reservoir serving the community.
It says maintenance teams are actively mobilizing the necessary materials and equipment to carry out repairs as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, water trucks are circulating in the area to ensure access to water.
A local guesthouse owner, James Dobson says they've been without water since 20 November.
"There are quite a few guesthouses and B&Bs in the village itself, and it's having a very negative effect on all our businesses because nobody can book accommodation because there's no water. They have been working and promising but every time something else happens", he said.
Dobson says the water was supposed to come back on Friday, and then they said Saturday, but that never happened.
