When the case resumed on Wednesday, Defence Advocate Deon Erasmus indicated that the defence wanted to bring an application to reopen their case so that another witness could be called to the stand.
However, after consulting with the witness and his client, Erasmus decided not to proceed with the application.
As a result, closing arguments could not continue as scheduled.
The case was remanded to 15 April for closing arguments.
