The suspended Griquas rugby player who has been charged with attempted murder is said to be undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation centre.
For this reason, the case against Kudzwai Dube, 24, was postponed in the Kariega Magistrates Court in his absence, on Friday.
Dube was arrested after an incident at a liquor store in Gavin Drive on 29 May, when he allegedly helped himself to alcohol and drank it inside the store.
According to witnesses he also started throwing bottles of liquor on the floor, before stabbing a customer.
In May, the Griqualand West Rugby Union confirmed in a statement that their prop had been suspended.
