Bomb threat at Uitenhage school

Uitenhage police have urged the public to assist in an investigating, following a bomb threat at a local school.

Spokesperson, WO Basil Seekoei says the headmaster of McCarthy Senior Secondary School received a telephone call shortly after 9 o'clock on Friday morning.

"The caller informed the principal that two bombs were placed in the female toilets, and that it would explode in ten minutes" Seekoei said.

"He then evacuated the teachers and learners to the school's sports field, and alerted the police"

Seekoei says bomb expets and the police's K-9 unit went to the scene, but found nothing. The school was declared safe, and classes resumed.
