One person has been killed and two more injured following a single-vehicle accident on the Albany off-ramp in Gqeberha.

Earlier, police said they believed that a man was still trapped in the wreckage as it landed in a precarious position.

Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge said a crane was brought in to remove the Ford Ranger bakkie.

Nelson Mandela Bay Traffic Chief, Warren Prins, confirmed to Algoa FM News that the vehicle and a body had since been removed.

Two injured men were taken to hospital.

A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.

The name of the deceased is not yet known.
