Gqeberha police have opened an inquest docket after the body of a foreign national was found on Kings Beach.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said the discovery was made at around 06:00 on Sunday.
She said the circumstances surrounding the death of the Nigerian national will form part of the investigation.
Janse Van Rensburg said police were appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact SAPS Humewood.
Alternatively, the public can contact Crime Stop on 08600 1011 or the nearest police station.
