Fraud and corruption accused Nelson Mandela Bay City Manager, Noxolo Nqwazi, lashed out and threw water at Journalists outside the Gqeberha Specialised Crimes Court on Wednesday.
This was after the court dismissed her application to amend a bail condition that prohibits her from interacting with State witnesses who also work for the Metro.
A man accompanying Nqwazi picked up a traffic cone and threatened to assault the two Journalists - one from The Herald and one from Algoa FM News - who were taking photos outside the Grahamstown Road court building.
Magistrate Nolitha Bara told Nqwazi that she should have objected to this bail condition during her formal bail application at the city's Magistrates Court in September.
Bara said that it was the State's duty to protect State Witnesses.
Nqwazi, who is on special leave, previously told the court that this bail condition would cost her job as it was preventing her from carrying out her duties.
Nqwazi and nine others have been charged with fraud and corruption relating to the irregular awarding of a R24.6 million rand toilet tender meant for poor households during the Covid-19 pandemic.
All of the accused are out on R5000 bail.
