Another day of flight delays at PE airport

Low cloud cover could lead to another day of delays in and out of Port Elizabeth.

Tweets from the PE International Airport advised on Tuesday that low visibility is being experienced and that passengers are advised to contact their airlines.

On Monday, as many as eight flights in into the city and several out of the city were delayed, ostensibly because of the weather conditions.

The PE Branch of the SA Weather Service said that fog moved in at around 5am reducing visibility and lowering the cloud base.

Spokesperson, Garth Sampson says this is well below the minimum conditions which allow passenger aircraft to land

However, he says that the good news is that as it heats up, the fog will start burning off and this should occur between 10 and 11 am

Sampson says the rest of the day will be partly cloudy with a maximum of around 19C
