The woman accused of allegedly setting a passenger bus alight in Gqeberha earlier this month has to spend another week in police custody because her address could not be verified.
Yamkela Mahobe (24), was arrested at her mother's house in Willowvale two weeks after the incident.
Last week, she appeared in the local magistrates court and indicated that she would be applying for bail this Monday, however, the application could not be actioned as the address she gave to her legal representative, came back negative following the investigation.
The Magistrate urged Mahobe to tell the truth and instructed her legal council to consult with her again.
The young woman, dressed in the same brown headscarf and coat as the previous appearances, told the court she would give her full cooperation and provide accurate information.
On November 2nd, the woman allegedly had a dispute with the bus company over a cell phone where she threatened to burn down the bus.
The bus was set alight before the suspect fled from the scene.
The damage to the bus is R3.2 million.
Mahobe is facing a charge of malicious damage to property.
