ANC working committee arrives in OR Tambo region to assess

The ANC's Eastern Cape Provincial Working Committee, led by Provincial chairperson, Pumulo Masualle has arrived in the OR Tambo region to assess the state of branches, governance, service delivery, state of readiness towards a regional conference and local government elections.

The party says in a statement this forms part of continuous visits by its Provincial leadership to all regions to service party structures in order to strengthen the work of the organisation across the province.

ANC Provincial Secretary, Oscar Mabuyane says they are  appreciative of progress made on social infrastructure, state-of-the-art schools, improved access roads, clinics, piped water and electricity connectivity.

He says they noted however, the glaring water scarcity and inadequate regional water schemes, and a directive has been issued to the district municipality to prioritize water service.

Mabuyane says they also noted that the OR Tambo region is still lagging behind industrial and labour absorptive institutions that can attract employment.
