The ANC in the Eastern Cape has welcomed the arrest of two people who allegedly stole more than R4-million from the OR Tambo District Municipality.
The ruling party in the province says the arrests will send a strong message to many, that corruption does not pay.
ANC provincial secretary, Oscar Mabuyane, says they also applaud the National Prosecuting Authority for helping to recover more than half of the stolen money.
He says the ANC has confidence in government's law enforcement agencies adding that they must work tirelessly to root out corruption.
Mabuyane says the suspects had allegedly pretended to be services providers to OR Tambo District Municipality.
