After pregnancy debacle Leach says relationship with Vicki was dead

School teacher Reinhardt Leach continued his cross examination from the state in the ongoing murder trial of Vicki Terblanche.

State Prosecutor Advocate Marius Stander focused on the time Vicki announced her pregnancy and how Arnold told her she often aborted babies and that the child was in all likelihood not his as she had slept with two men before meeting him.

The message also referenced the nude photographs Vicki had sent them which was shared among many, including people at her son's school.

Leach said when Vicki said she was pregnant they bought several tests which all came back positive.  They informed his parents and he was very excited. Stander asked him how he felt about Arnold's message and he said he was emotionally broken.

When asked if that changed things between him and Vicki and if this was where he turned against her he tearfully replied yes.

On 12 October 2021 when the men met at the Chelsea Sports Bar he had given up on Vicki, their relationship was dead.

Advocate Stander led evidence from phone records asking Leach if he could now, in hindsight, see that Terblanche was working with a strategy. Leach agreed and said Arnold started paying Vicki R9 000 a month, cutting off the wifi to put her under financial strain.

Vicki Terblanche was murdered on the 18th of October 2021 and it is the state's case that her husband Arnold was the mastermind.

The trial continues.
