ActionSA appoints new leadership for Eastern Cape, North West

ActionSA

ActionSA has appointed a new acting provincial chairperson for the Eastern Cape to take over from Athol Trollip who asked to step aside due to his increasing obligations as Parliamentary leader.

On Wednesday, ActionSA said that their provincial operations and campaigns manager, Nongoma Mtitshana, will lead the party in the province until its elective conference.

“Mtitshana brings to the role a wealth of knowledge, grassroots experience, and a demonstrated passion for the people of the Eastern Cape,” said deputy president, Dr Mbahare Kekana.

According to the party Mtitshana’s "qualifications and professional experience align perfectly" with the pressing challenges that the province faces, as she has a particular passion for rural development and agricultural entrepreneurship, areas of importance for the future of the Eastern Cape.

"In the months following our national electoral breakthrough, she has, for all practical purposes, been doing the job of provincial chairperson, especially since Trollip was elected to the National Assembly in June last year," Kekana added.

Meanwhile, ActionSA appointed the former mayor of Ditsobotla Local Municipality, Thabo Nkashe, as its new provincial leader in North West province.

The party described him as a "dedicated public servant and activist" who has made significant contributions to the development of the Ditsobotla community.

“Both have been entrusted with the important task of building branches, strengthening our capacity, and ensuring readiness ahead of the upcoming local government elections,” said Kekana.
