The man accused of kidnapping Sonam Gajjar, made a brief appearance in the Kariega Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Gajjar, 34, was taken in her driveway on Mosel Road in Kariega on 13 March, and the state alleges that Nyamezeli Tete is involved.
She was released a few days later after a hefty ransom amount was paid.

The Hawks arrested Tete on 9 June about 3km from Fort Beaufort.
He allegedly tried to evade arrest.
The Gajjar matter was postponed to 11 October for further investigation.

Tete has also been charged with the April kidnapping of Running Chen from his business premises in North End, in Gqeberha.
During his bail application in the Chen case, it came to light that he is also seemingly linked to the kidnapping of Chen's mother.
