The spring season is officially upon us! As we enter into a brand-new season it is clear that nature has begun making steady progress to adjust itself and promote new beginnings and fresh start.
Live Science, a scientific publication specialising in the latest discoveries and groundbreaking research, describes spring as being “the season which the natural world revives and reinvigorates after the colder winter months.”
This is often viewed as being a time of new beginnings, as plants start growing and hibernating animals start waking during these months.
But while nature has fulfilled its task of creating change, so should we.
Heading into this year so many of us tend to create a mental note of things we plan to do and achieve as part of our New Year resolutions, but the reality may be that you may not have been able to reach those visions that you had for yourself.
While this may cause many to become despondent, there is an opportunity for you to still achieve your goals, and that is by simply opting to renew your mind.
To renew your mind means to do away with unhealthy thoughts and patterns by replacing them with healthy ones.
The lifestyle publication, Calendar, suggests these five habits that will help you renew your mind and meet your goals.
Wake up at a reasonable time – The above-mentioned publication explains that getting up early is the perfect way to train your brain to find good habits. This allows you to determine how your day might turn out.
“Getting up early gives you the time to complete your morning to-do list and be able to craft the best routine to tackle the day.”
Schedule out your day – “It’s important to know what you are doing for the day to avoid getting distracted and losing focus.”
Give yourself deadlines – This is considered a vital technique as it encourages you to work towards a specific goal and not procrastinate.
Exercise – Having regular exercise is a good way to promote positive thinking. This not only reduces stress but also leaves you feeling liberated. “Something as simple as using a treadmill or walking around the block can make a significant impact on your health,” explains Calendar.
Prioritise self-care – Calendar explains that the most important thing we can do is to take care of ourselves this can be achieved through taking up a passion project or simply, meditating, praying or journaling your thoughts.
