PRETORIA, October 15 (ANA) â President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Goa in India to attend the 8th BRICS summit, the presidency said on Saturday.
During the 8th Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) summit, which would be held under theme âBuilding Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutionsâ, leaders of the BRICS countries would consult on intra-BRICS co-operation and on global issues such as international conflicts, the fight against terrorism, and reform of global system of governance, notably the âdemocratisation of the United Nations and the Bretton Woods Institutionsâ, it said in a statement.
Leaders would also meet the BRICS business council, which focused on infrastructure, manufacturing, financial services, energy and the green economy, skills development, agribusiness, and deregulation.
It was expected that various memoranda of understanding aimed at expanding the BRICS institution-building agenda and sectoral co-operation initiatives would also be signed.
Zuma was accompanied by International Relations and Co-operation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane; Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies; Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor; State Security Minister David Mahlobo, and Small Business Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu, the presidency said.
