Zimbabwe running out of fuel

The Energy Regulator in Zimbabwe says the country is running out of fuel.

The CEO Eddington Mazambani told Parliament on Thursday that they had exhausted the $60 million worth of fuel imported last week.

The money, which was released specifically for fuel, came at a time where they already had zero supplies, to begin with.

The foreign currency bought about 100 million litres of fuel, which will be gone in two and a half weeks.

Mazambi said because there are no supplies people will fill up all their vehicles.

Meanwhile, US Senators said the new Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who took over the country in last year’s military coup, lead many Zimbabweans to believe that a new and brighter era has dawned on the country, but that it was not producing real results.

The opposition MDC Alliance is still refusing to acknowledge Mnangagwa's election marginal victory announced in August and preceded by the fatal shooting of six people in the capital Harare, where soldiers were deployed to put down protests against poll rigging.
