Washington (dpa) – US meat products company Marathon Enterprises is recalling 3,264 tons of hot dogs over fears they could contain bone fragments, US authorities announced Saturday.
The “beef and pork hot dog and sausage items” in question were packaged between mid-March and early July, the US Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a statement.
Consumers had complained of finding bone fragments in hot dogs, with “one minor oral injury” reported.
People who have purchased the company’s hot dog products during the time period in question have been urged not to eat them.
