A truck driver who knocked down two white rhinos in the MosiOaTunya National Park has been found guilty at the Livingstone magistrate's court, Zambia media reported.
Ashes Gumbo, aged 37, pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving in the February 25 incident, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) reported.
The court heard that Gumbo was warned through flashing lights and hooting by another driver coming from the opposite direction to reduce speed, but paid no heed.
Moments later, he hit the two rhinos as they crossed the road, killing them instantly.
Magistrate Trevor Kasanda is expected to sentence him on Wednesday.
