InterContinental Hotels has become the first global hotel company to join the war on plastic.
The CEO for the Holiday Inn in the UK Keith Barr says this will mean the end for mini bottles of shampoo and other toiletries that hotel guests love to stuff into their luggage.
Barr says nearly 843 000 of their rooms will now be switching to bulk-size bathroom amenities as part of their efforts to cut waste.
He says the transition in their nearly 5 600 hotels around the world will be completed by 2021.
InterContinental uses on average 200 million bathroom miniatures every year.
