New Zealand reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the number of active cases in the country to 27.
The country's Ministry of Health says it's been 75 days since the last case of Covid-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source.
One of the new cases was a man in his 60's who arrived in New Zealand last week, on a flight from Pakistan via Dubai.
The second case was a woman in her 50's who arrived in the country on a flight from Dublin via Dubai.
New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern addressed the nation on Wednesday to set out plans in the event of a second wave of transmissions.
She said Covid was now exploding outside their borders.
None of the active patients is receiving hospital treatment at this time and they are all in quarantine.
New Zealand was one of the first countries to be free of Covid-19 and only recorded 22 deaths during the outbreak.
