A store owner from North Carolina in the USA has assisted in closing a cold case after watching the Netflix Documentary Series, Unsolved Mysteries.
The show which is already in its third season featured an episode about the then nine-year-old Kayla Unbehaun who was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Heather in 2017.
Kayla, who is now 15, has been reunited with her father Ryan in the State of Illinois.
He issued a brief statement via the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, thanking law enforcement agencies who assisted with the case.
He also appealed for privacy as he wants to get to know his daughter again and navigate through this difficult time.
Heather Unbehaun only had visitation rights with her daughter at the time of her abduction.
The mother has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
