British Prince Harry is already putting his foot in his mouth with his future relatives, months before he’s to marry US actress Meghan Markle, with comments about their Christmas visit.
“It’s the family I suppose she’s never had,” commented Harry during an interview on Wednesday about Markle’s attendance at the British royal family’s traditional Christmas gathering in eastern England.
Markle’s half-sister, Samantha, retorted on Twitter: “Actually she has a large family who was always there with her and for her.”
“Our household was very normal and when dad and Doria divorced, we all made it so it was like she had two houses. No one was estranged, she was just too busy,” Samantha continued.
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, announced their plan to marry in November after months of speculation. The couple, who plan to marry in May at Windsor Castle, published specially commissioned photographs to celebrate their engagement a few days before Christmas.
