A US judge on Friday dismissed a former radio host’s lawsuit against Taylor Swift, local media reported, saying he could not prove the pop star got him fired for allegedly groping her.
However, Judge William J Martinez ruled that former DJ David Mueller’s case can continue against Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift and radio promotions director Frank Bell as defendants, CNN reported.
Closing arguments at the Denver, Colorado court were set for Monday.
Mueller’s lawsuit alleges that Swift falsely accused him of groping her during a meet-and-greet in 2013, which led to his being sacked after she complained to the radio station.
Swift counter-sued, accusing Mueller of assault and alleging that during a staged photo opportunity, Mueller reached underneath her
dress and touched her buttocks.
Earlier this week, Mueller told the court that he may have touched Swift’s ribs by accident while jostling to get in the photo.
His account was rejected by Swift in her testimony. “This was not jostling,” she told the court said. “He did not touch my rib. He did
not touch my arm. … He grabbed my bare ass.”
