An opinion piece written by English broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson on the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been removed from the Sun's website.
The Independent Press Standards Organization (IPSO) that regulates newspapers and magazines in the United Kingdom says they received 12 000 complaints by Monday afternoon.

Clarkson's piece drew international criticism after he shared how he hated the Duchess on a cellular level and compared her to serial killer Rose West.
He further shared how he lies awake at night dreaming of the day when the Duchess is made to parade naked through the streets, while people throw excrement at her.
IPSO says they will follow their usual process when receiving complaints, although this case would take longer due to the volume of complaints.
The organization will now have to decide whether the Editors' Code of Practice has been breached before trying to seek a resolution between the complainant and the publication.
Clarkson who became a household name with the popular TV Show, Top Gear, was fired from the BBC in 2016 after he punched a producer on the show.
The Sussexes have been top trending on social media since the release of their six-part $88 Million documentary series on Netflix.
Clarkson took to Twitter to offer an apology.
Oh dear. I’ve rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future.
