Former Minneapolis policeman, Derek Chauvin, has been found guilty on all three charges related to the death of George Floyd.
The jury, made up of six white and six black men and women, deliberated for about 11 hours, before returning the guilty verdict.
Floyd’s death at the hands of police was captured on video which went viral showing Chauvin with his knee on the handcuffed man’s neck for nine minutes.
He died despite his pleas to the officers that he could not breathe.
There were scenes of jubilation outside the court and across the city which was on tenterhooks ahead of the verdict.
Floyd's death sparked worldwide protests within the #BLM (Black lives Matter) movement.

The place where George Floyd met his untimely death has been renamed George Floyd Square, it is now an occupation protest and memorial site at the intersection of East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
