Four of 12 schoolboys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand were evacuated on Sunday as a result of a rescue operation, local media reported.
Two boys have been taken to hospital in the city of Chiang Rai located in 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the cave, while two others currently remain in a field hospital set up next to the cave's entrance and are being prepared to be taken to the same hospital, where there are all the necessary conditions for the boys' rehabilitation after the two weeks spent in the cave, the Thai PBS TV channel reported.
On June 23, several hours after the 12 members of a local football team and their coach entered the Tham Luang cave, heavy rain started preventing them from leaving it. The searches for the boys and their coach lasted for 10 days after which they all were found alive.
Early on Sunday, the head of the rescue team announced the start of an operation to get the teenagers and their coach out of the cave.
