Facebook on Friday said it removed both the shooters' accounts and a live streaming video after they opened fire at two mosques in New Zealand's Christchurch city, causing "multiple fatalities".
Mia Garlick from Facebook's New Zealand office says police alerted them to the video shortly after the live feed commenced and was quickly removed.
She says all the accounts for Brenton Tarrant have been deleted.
Facebook will also be removing any praise or support for the crime and the shooter or shooters as soon as they become aware of it.
Facebook said they would continue working directly with the police as their investigation continues.
Three men and a woman have been arrested in connection with Friday's terror attack.
The shootings took place at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Masjid, killing 49 people.
