Health hub, Inside Tracker, states that ageing is a slow process that can be reversed by modest but major lifestyle choices, meaning that the process to start ageing backwards starts now, in your youthful years.

The above-mentioned health hub describes the ageing process as a decline in bodily functions, as mentioned before the older you get your body stops producing skin cells which leads you to having grey hair and more wrinkles.

Here’s how you can age backwards according to these health hubs:

  1. Stop destructive habits: According to health publication WebMD, you need to stop indulging in destructive habits such as excessive drinking and smoking. The hub adds that it’s the best way to maintain health and longevity, as these habits are linked to many illnesses and diseases and something even leads to death.
  2. Exercise: Inside Tracker, states that strength training is important for your muscle mass as it not only makes them stronger but prevents you from ending up disabled or unable to walk.
  3. Get 8 hours of sleep: According to studies, your body needs a maximum of eight hours of sleep. WebMD adds that sleep is important for your heart and brain.
  4. Eat healthier foods: The saying, “You are what you eat” goes a long way, as your diet can affect your life in the long run. Nutritionist Angelique Panagos says, “Aim to eat foods that have a natural anti-inflammatory action. Good fats like omega 3 fatty acids get broken down into anti-inflammatory chemicals in the body, which helps keep your cells at a good age.”
  5. Apply sunscreen: According to Inside Tracker, sunscreen prevents you from getting wrinkles, dark marks or uneven skin tone from sun damage. “Up to 80% of skin ageing may be caused by UV exposure. A randomised controlled trial demonstrated no discernible increase in skin ageing in persons who used broad-spectrum sunscreen regularly,” says the above-mentioned source.
