South African model Lebo Malope got the opportunity of a lifetime as he walked the runway at Pharrell Williams’ first Paris Fashion show this week.
Earlier this month, Lebo, 18, who is still in Grade 11, appeared on the cover of the Youth issue of SMag with his elder brother Denetric, who is also a model. Pharrell’s show was the second time he has walked for French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, SowetanLIVE reported.
Some of the biggest names in the world turned up to support Pharrell, with the likes of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jay Z, Lewis Hamilton, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian and Naomi Campbell flanking the runway over the Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in Paris.
Speaking after the show, Malope said: “I kind of had a tough time backstage as the coat I was wearing was hot, but it was cool and nice. We [models] were all in good outfits and were happy and excited to be at Louis Vuitton,” he told SowetanLIVE.
He took to Instagram to post some of the pics of his runway looks and expressed how thankful he was for the opportunity.
“Starting Paris fashion week 24 with @louisvuitton I cannot express how grateful I am to be part of this monumental moment in history. Thank you so much @theclawmodels @louisvuitton @pharrell @patmcgrathreal and everyone behind this. Eternally grateful,” he wrote on Instagram.
