Whitney Houston's family to have own reality TV show

Whitney Houston's family are to feature in their own reality TV show, it has been confirmed.

The fly-on-the-wall programme, titled The Houston Family Chronicles, will feature the late singer's daughter Bobbi Kristina, mum Cissy, her brother Gary, sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, Pat's daughter Rayah and her cousin Dionne Warwick.

In a statement, Rob Sharenow, executive vice-president of programming at Lifetime, who will air the show, said: "The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family."

He added:In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow.Sharenow also revealed that the programme would get airtime this year, and that 10 episodes will be recorded, but no air date has been confirmed as of yet.

Whitney Houston died on February 11 at the age of 48, after she was discovered underwater and unconscious in a bath in a hotel in Beverly Hills. On March 22 a coroner revealed the cause of death as drowning combined with heart disease and cocaine use.

Last month, it was reported that Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina is apparently keen to play her late mother in a film of her life. She was reported to have told friends that she feels she is the best person to do her mother's story justice following reports that Rihanna had expressed an interest in taking on the role.
