Someone give Zozibini Tunzi a recording contract! The Eastern Cape beauty is fond of taking to social media to entertain her followers with a melody or two every now and again – this time round she nails the classic ballad Can’t Help Falling in Love.
It's a song that was first recorded by the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, for the album Blue Hawaii. The work of Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss, it was initially written for a woman as Can't Help Falling in Love with Him. Many artists from Bob Dylan to UB40 have covered it, and now it’s getting a touch of Tunzi magic.
Could a career in the music industry be next on the cards for the Tsolo born beauty? In an interview back in December 2020, she told the Sunday Times that when her reign ended she hoped to pursue a career in music. She told the publisher she had, “ come to fall in love with music all over again. I’ve always loved music but I never thought it would be something that I would pursue as a career. I feel like music is a space that I want to occupy next. I’m fascinated by television as well, so people will definitely find me there as well. Humanitarian work is also close to my heart, something I’m hoping to continue.”
“There are so many opportunities out there in the world that I’m not scared to take. The world has become so small now that we can literally be everywhere at the same time.”
One of her first singing Instagram posts was of her performing a Beyoncé song - it blew her fans away.
Take a listen to her rendition of 'Can't Help Falling in Love' - it's impressive.
