Empire Entertainment has announced that it will be releasing the psychological thriller Unhinged in South African cinemas this August.
This will make it one of the first films to be screened in movie theatres again after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that Level 3 lockdown regulations would allow cinemas and theatres to open their doors but with strict safety measures in place. According to government health and safety regulations cinemas would have to comply with extensive safety measures that will include social distancing in the cinema and foyer, limited seating capacity, online ticket sales, access to hand sanitizers, the regular disinfecting of high-touch areas, nightly deep-cleaning as well as the wearing of masks and other PPEs. Staff would have to undergo rigorous training to adhere to all the strict protocols.
While an official opening date is yet to be announced, cinema loving South Africans can look forward to chomping on some popcorn while enjoying the thrill of Crowe’s new movie sometime towards the end of August it would seem.
In a nutshell, the movie is all about a case of road rage that turns into full-blown terror when an unstable driver decides to follow a woman and her son.
The movie opens in the USA in July.
