WATCH : Trench Town loves a bit of royalty

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Trench Town

Prince William and Kate are given a five-star welcome to Jamaica despite anti-monarchy protesters accusing them of benefitting from 'blood, tears and sweat' of slavery.

Daily Mail took to Twitter to post a clip of the royal couple being mobbed by onlookers chanting,” We love you, we love you.”

Jamaica, a Caribbean island nation, is the famed birthplace of reggae music, and its capital Kingston is home to a museum dedicated to the memory of global icon Bob Marley.

While the royal couple is enjoying being welcomed with open arms by an adoring public, the island’s politicians are said to be aiming for a 2022 independence vote and slave trade reparations.

The Cambridges are on a week-long royal tour that started in Belize and will end in The Bahamas
