The trailer for the latest film adaption of Fiela se Kind has just been released.
Based on the bestselling novel by Dalene Mathee, which was first published in 1985, it is set in the forests of Knysna, South Africa, in the nineteenth century and tells the story of a Cape Coloured woman, Fiela, and her family who adopt an abandoned white child. Nine years later the child is taken away from her and forced to live with a white family of woodcutters who claim he is their lost son. If you are not familiar with the story, we won't spoil it for you, but you can watch the trailer to get a taste of what this remake is like. It will only hit cinemas in September.
The book was first made into a film in 1988 and starred Shaleeen Surtie-Richards as Fiela. This remake includes in the cast, Zenobia Kloppers as ‘Fiela Komoetie’, Wayne Smith as ‘Benjamin SR’, Luca Bornman as ‘Benjamin JR’, Wayne Van Rooyen as ‘Selling Komoetie’, Drikus Volshenck as ‘Elias Van Rooyen’, Cindy Swanepoel as ‘Barta Van Rooyen’, Chiara Roodt as ‘Nina JR’, Melissa Willering as ‘Nina SR’, Stefan Erasmus as ‘Tollie Komoetie SR' and Andre Stoltz as ‘Lange’.
